Our surveyors range in experience from 13-30 years and are well-trained from a combination of years of study and observation in the field, and practiced implementation of the RBA protocol methodology.
Steve trask
Senior fish biologist. Steve developed the Rapid Bio-Assessment (RBA) protocol with Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) and the Mid-Coast Watershed Council back in 1998 and has been leading snorkel crews ever since. Over the years he has managed a multitude of stream habitat rehabilitation projects and served as adviser to both the public and private sector, informing their restoration strategies for salmonid recovery.
Jeremy Lees
Owner and Operations Manager. Jeremy has been with Bio-Surveys for 15 years. Over the years he has co-authored several RBA reports, and conducted inventories across over a 1000 miles of Oregon’s rivers and streams.
Mike Lees
Mike has been snorkeling with Bio-Surveys for 20 years and has co-authored several RBA reports. He’s been studying Oregon salmon habitat in the central and northern Coast Range since the summer of 2000. He specializes in snorkel surveys, riparian restoration, and aquatic habitat inventories.
James holley
Jim has been snorkeling with bio-surveys for over a decade. He also specializes in amphibian, turtle, and freshwater mussel inventories.
